Need-based scholarships are available upon request and/or alternative payment plans are available.
Tuition covers the cost of music rentals, venue rentals for rehearsals and concerts, printing, music educator salaries, and other WMPA overhead costs associated with running a youth orchestra. Tuition payment or scholarship applications are due no later than the second rehearsal (September 15, 2026). Failure to pay or submit a scholarship application by the due date will result in a $50 late fee.
Sibling Discount: Families having more than one student enrolled in the WMYO and/or WMCO receive a $100 discount on the tuition for each additional student.
Payment Methods:
CASH/CHECK: Cash or check payments made payable to 'WMPA' and annotated in the memo line with the student's name and ensemble can be given to WMYO/WMCO Music Director at any rehearsal or mailed to: Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic Association, PO Box 16442, Alexandria VA 22302.
VENMO: When using venmo, please send $917.20 for YO or $815.30 for CO to absorb the 1.9% + $0.10 fee. Please send to @wmpamusic with your student's name and ensemble in the caption.
ONLINE: Follow links above to pay tuition by credit card. Please make sure to put your student's name in the designated "NOTE TO SELLER" area.
*Note: Online tuition price includes a 4% credit card processing fee.
Financial barriers will never keep a child from joining WMYO after a successful audition.
