wmpa cOVID-19 INFORMATION
The Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic Association canceled its remaining concerts of the 2019/2020 Season (March 29/April 5 and May 30/31 Philharmonic concerts) and the Washington Metropolitan Youth Orchestras concert on May 16. All rehearsals of all orchestras have also been canceled. Our current plan is to provide virtual online performances of the Lyceum Chamber concerts. Watch our home page and the Lyceum Performances page for details.
All of us at WMPA remain concerned for the health and well-being of our WMPA family, including patrons, musicians, and staff. We believe that the best course of action for our community is to do our part in minimizing the spread of this virus.
WMP 2019-2020 Season Flex Pass Holders:
You will be receiving an email or a letter shortly regarding options for your unused tickets. If you have not provided WMPA with your email address, you may email it to Caroline Mousset, WMPA Executive Director at email@example.com to get the full details on the options, or call WMPA's main number at 703-799-8229. In general, the options will be to donate your remaining tickets, apply them as a credit to future subscriptions or single tickets, or to request a refund. We hope that you will consider donating your tickets for canceled concerts to WMPA at this unprecedented time.
Our Youth Orchestras students and parents have been contacted directly by the WMYO and WMCO Music Directors about their options.
We will continue to monitor the situation and keep you informed of any additional changes to our public performances, including the Summer Chamber Music Series at the Lyceum.
Lastly, we are planning to provide music videos for inspiration, healing, and peace while this situation lasts. Please check our website and our emails for details periodically to see what’s available. Our goal is to bridge the gap in performances and maintain communication with all our friends and music enthusiasts until we can perform live again as soon as possible. Plans for the 2020/2021 Season are well underway and we will keep you informed about them.
Thank you for your understanding. On behalf of our Board of Directors, musicians, staff, and all of us in the WMPA family, we wish you and your family good health and safety during this unprecedented situation.
