Megan Yingst
Interim Chief Operating Officer
Megan Yingst is excited to serve as Chief Operating Officer, following the incredible work of previous WMPA Executive Director, Caroline Mousset. In addition to her role with WMPA, Megan also serves as the Assistant Artistic and Outreach Director of the Alexandria Children’s Chorus and is the founder and music educator of Megan’s Marvelous Music, where she teaches in-home voice, piano, and exploratory music lessons.

Megan’s belief in the power of music to unite communities has propelled her career from a young age, founding a middle school choir at 18 and advocating for music education on Capitol Hill numerous times. She holds a degree in Music Education from Florida Southern College and worked for 5 years as a public school Choir Director in Title I communities, where her students achieved superior ratings and performed at Disney World. She recently served as the Executive Director of the Alexandria Choral Society, where she organized the first city-wide Choral Festival, One Voice Alexandria, uniting 450 singers from across the city. Megan honors the legacy of her grandmother, Margery Kennedy, a respected church organist, choir director and educator, in all the music she creates.
