Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic Association
Annual Chamber Music Series

Each summer, Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic Association sponsors a Summer Chamber Music Series, held between mid-June and September at Alexandria's History Museum: The Lyceum in historic Old Town Alexandria. These weekly performances are free and open to the public.  The performances feature small ensembles and soloists, primarily from Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic and the local arts community.  The performers select the program for their concert.

Donations accepted. Suggested donation: $15.

Parking Note: On-street parking is free on Sundays after 11 am

4  Violinist Lisa Park and Pianist Albert Kim - Strauss Violin Sonata, Stravinsky Suite Italienne and Malipiero Cantos 
11 The United States Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps' Historical Ensemble Presents:
From Royalty to Revolution:  Dance, Martial and Civic Music from Europe to the New World    

18  West Shore Trio - Beethoven's Silhouette: Music of Mozart, Mendelssohn, and Schumann
25  Pianist William McDaniel - Works by Sofia Gubaidulina, Pauline Oliveros, and Beethoven. 
SATURDAY 31 Pianist Sasha Beresovsky plays works by Schumann, Chopin, and Scriabin. Note: free street parking is limited on Saturday's in Alexandria. Metered street and nearby garage parking is available.
     
SEPTEMBER
1  Charm City Baroque - 17th-century chamber music gems
8  Saxophonist Vaughn Ambrose Presents The Charlie Parker with Strings Project – An offering of music from Parker’s iconic           recording in its original orchestration. An incredible marriage of jazz and classical music bringing together musicians and           audiences in new and unexpected ways.
15  Piano and Friends: Music with Winds, Voice, and Strings by Mozart, Fauré, and Dvořák with Pianist John Sutherland Earle
