Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (incorporated in 1987) composed of musicians and music lovers dedicated to making high-quality musical performances and opportunities accessible to the community.
WMPA comprises several major programs, including three orchestras, a free summer concert series, concerto and composition competitions, and other programming and initiatives; we celebrate the living, breathing nature of music—music that moves with time, moves its audiences, and makes a difference.
WMPA 360º: Don’t Just Listen, Experience

What colors do you see when you hear Franck’s Symphony in d minor? Is there a short story in Debussy’s Nocturnes? Does Bernstein’s Candide pair better with a Merlot or a Chablis? Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic Association invites you to find out.
In honor of WMPA’s 40th Anniversary, we are spending the 2011-12 season exploring music from various angles, an experience we are calling WMPA 360º. WMPA has invited local visual artists, writers, and even sommeliers to use the tools of their disciplines to reimagine the music we are making. Your participation in WMPA 360º is as simple as attending WMP’s pre-concert discussions, performances, and post-concert receptions. Make a gift of $100 to WMPA today and become an official Member of WMPA, and it will be our pleasure to send to you a Thank You Gift Pack including creations inspired by our WMPA 360º collaborators.
